Hi. I live in the USA. Where can I get this Gibertini 1.5 m offset dish? How heavy is this 1.5 m dish (in Kg)? Also will it work with an SG2100 DiSEq 1.2 Stab Usals motor?

Even though the Gibertini 150 isn't a heavy dish for its size, i would not recommend the SG2100. A more powerful 36V H-H motor matches this dish very well.
I have not been able to find a site in the USA offering this product.
If it helps, i got the dish, motor and adapter plate from

Great site, very well written. Did make the stand yourself? I want a dish for Arabsat fixed so what do I need to order, I'm located in Belgium.
Well done. JD Belgium.

Thanks JD,
I designed the stand but had someone else build it.
Can see now i've made a mistake, when i said Arabsat i meant Nilesat 101/102 & Atlantic Bird 4 7.0°W, both have many of the same channels. I'm picking up the 'middle east beam'. I think you might be able to receive this with a 1.2m dish but for the 'wide beam' it would not be enough.

Judging by the footprints, to get Arabsat 2B 30°E in Belgium would require even larger dish.

sorry for further confusion..i think i must have called 26.0°E for Arabsat because all the Arabian channels. I'm guessing you should be able to pick these up with a 1.2m dish. I think the footprint maybe a bit off. I get Libya Sports 11727 H. Hope this helps :)

hi i was wondering if have tried a c-band lnb on the gibby if so how did it do.

Havnt tried with c-band but i saw a program on 'DR. Dish TV' with a 1.8 channelmaster, it was very limited what they where able to pick up in that part of Germany. My location is not far from there. Could still be interesting to try!

Congratulations on your nice setup.

One question for you, if you have time to answer: How have you set-up declination with the Gibertini and the adapter plates? Because I am trying to set-up the smr-1224 with a Gibertini op-125 with the adapter plates and got a bit confused getting to declination settings.

Thank you

They also do a strong polar mount where you can fit an actuator for the Op125cm & 150cm. Nice set up zombie

I understand hw the dish moves horizontally, but what about using it to track different satelliteon different elevation,i.e intelsat 7/10 ku and eutelsat w3a. --- diffrent azimuth apart and wider levation apart .
Im concrned about the elevation motion.
Please reply to onlyshehy@yahoo.com

Hi, the email bounced back so i post here.
There should be no problem picking up the satellites you mention.
Once the motor and dish are aligned correctly, it will follow the satellite arcs 180 degrees, so the elevation will automatically follow on both dish and motor.
However there are a few inclined orbit satellites where you would need an inclined orbit tracker as the satellite changes elevation/position. But this is maybe only 3 % of them, and often with no channels. In this situation, an option could be the SMR 1224 EL motor. It will however limit the span of horizon as the inclined orbit tracker will restrict movement on the further east/west satellites. Hope this helps.

hi,
can you tell me please did the adapter plate come with the dish, (as i'm told the dish won't fit the 1224 motor), if it didn't where did you get it from, you've done EXACTLY what i want to do.
thanks for any info you give.
Tim.

You are right, the dish wont fit on the 1224 motor without an adapter plate, i purchased this from http://www.satshop24.de/satshop24_s/montageset_smr_1224_smr_1224_el_zur_mont,pd310!0,,M-Set_Gibertini.html

hi, again,
thanks for the above info on the plate adapter, i'm interested in buying one , the only problem is the site is in German, and me being a thick English lad can't understand it.
Do you know of any English sites which sell the adapter plate, i've looked but can't see any.
Hope you can help.
Tim
